Shawn,
Mr.Hogan would be proud of you, my friend. You have a great motion !
FO: excellent stance, grip and angles, good slap-hinge release and impact position. The area that eventually would need minor adjustment is using horizontal forces (torques) that would help you gain more momentum; the linear motion is practically not existing because you want to have your rear hip go targetwise at the takeaway; step onto your rear foot more (onto the inside edge) and do not be afraid to roll your lead foot more and lift the heel approaching top; feel like your rear side is like a rubber wall; preset your rear side more and turn onto it more and you will gain even more momentum and will maintain better your tush line while swinging left as hard as you want; your head will even drop down at impact (instead lifting up) which is the best sign of utilizing body pivot most effectively.
DTL: very good takeaway, on-plane all the motion, great shift to the EP relatively early; at setup - shoulder line perfect, open more hip line and less closed feet line that will make it easier to swing left more; the rear hip should go linearily targetwise befre you complete backswing or even South of targetwise giving you the squat look and feel of dropping the whole dynamic weight onto your lead foot heel area; as said above, it requires a minor adjustment with utilizing the firm rear side torques and linear motion.
RV: only one remark - when you step more onto your rear side your rear hip will go a bit higher up; then the linear shift will level it up and the rotation phase will automatically start; upper body + arms look great as well as a great position at the top of your whole upper body.
Do not treat what I wrote as a definite answer because it cannot be with posed swings (without a ball) as you know very well. But all 3 vids are good enough to state that your motion DOES NOT require lots of adjustments. Congrats, my friend !

Dariusz, thank you for the kind words. I will post a video later of right before I found this site. I value your input greatly, as I have come into agreement with your findings and theories. I will work on these things and post up a video of me hitting balls soon. Thanks Shawn |

With pleasure, mate.
One more thing - I noticed I had made one mistake writting "impact" instead of "top" in the sentence:
"[...]and do not be afraid to roll your lead foot more and lift the heel approaching impact"
the sentence should look like:
"[...]and do not be afraid to roll your lead foot more and lift the heel approaching top".
I apologize for the mistake.
Cheers |
