Dariusz,
The graphic you have for the flat spot under the ball should be improved. Agree with you that there is a flat spot and the wider the better for hitting it well. Read Tutleman's [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Newton and the Divot which really helped me with my ball striking. Because a club has loft it goes down after impact with the golf ball which goes up. This would really help your story a lot more to drive the point further that what is seen by the thin, long wide mouth divots starting 2" past the ball from great ball strikers is due to the laws of physics and NOT by hitting down on the ball. I truly believe that most golfer has absolutely no clue how important this flat spot is to great ball striking and how to observe the divot as well as the ball flight to ascertain what they are actually doing. Keep up the great work as I always enjoy what you write.
Thanks,
Rock |

Hi Rock,
Yes, I was wondering this myself to make the graphic more real. The divot shold not be as even as I drew but slightly directed downwards. I decided to leave it as it is because of enhancing the contrast between these two. I will create a more correct real one and put it here, in your thread.
Thanks for pointing it out.

As promised -- a more realistic view concerning the flat spot below:
